Christine Cox

Christine Cox is President of ChristineCox|PR, a communications business focusing on public relations, media relations, and profile and business writing.  With nearly 20 years of experience, Cox worked for the Castano Tobacco Litigation for 8 years as Media Relations Director. The national consortium was comprised of 65 law firms heading a massive class action suit against 13 tobacco companies and another against gun manufacturers and distributers. This gave her a wide range of experience in building relationships with both the media and the audience, in a politically charged arena. She also has experience with non-profits, having served on several boards, having been an executive administrator, and having handled public relations campaigns for several not-for-profit entities over the years. Also, her father is a retired State Senator, so she has a political background and is comfortable in the arena of politics and policy.

Presently, Cox has clients in Austin, Texas and also writes for and has been published in over a dozen magazines locally and nationally. She has a special interest in women’s health issues, green and sustainable living and construction, and in helping small businesses grow to their full potential through public relations and relationship building.

With a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of English from Louisiana State University, Cox is a former Disc Jockey, Public Affiars radio host, and TV/Radio talent. She currently serves on the BOD for the Association of Women in Communications and is Chair of Freelance Austin.
